Frank Frezatta's Creatures #1 - Image Comics
The Frank Frazetta comic universe expands with Creatures, by Rick Remender and Peter Bergting. The story of the comic is based on one of Frazetta's paintings and then interpreted by Remender and Bergting. In this case, the painting shows a lone adventurer standing his own against a horde of creatures. This man is Teddy Roosevelt (President of the USA and a paranormal investigator) and he has his hands full with outer-space aliens and ancient Mayan demon.
Acclaimed writer RICK REMENDER (The Atom, Punisher War Journal) spins the untold adventures of Teddy Roosevelt, Rough Rider, President of the United States and paranormal investigator as he uncovers a plot concocted by a band of nefarious aliens in cahoots with a malevolent ancient Mayan demon to eradicate humanity and claim Earth for their own purposes. A merging of The X-Files, Ghostbusters, and Indiana Jones, Creatures promises high-adventure starting one of America’s greatest heroes of the early twentieth century brought to glorious four-color life by Swedish superstar PETER BERGTING - IMAGE COMICS.
DC's new eight part mini-series Reign In Hell begins this week. As the title speaks for it's self, a war is waged in Hell and the battle for control is up for grabs. Satanus and his sister Blaze set things in motion as they try to corrupt and overthrow hell and Neron. Look out for DC's mystics to come to the playing field - Dr Fate, Zantanna, Blue Devil and the Shadowpact. What impact will this war have on the DC Universe?
The story of "Old Man Logan" continues in Wolverine #67, set about fifty years in the future and Wolverine is no more. Logan and Hawkeye make their way across America in the Spidey-Mobile to delivery a "package", with a blind Hawkeye at the wheel. Logan owes the Hulk gang BIG time and hopefully the money he makes from the delivery will get them off his back. Story by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, the team that brought you Civil War.
Garth Ennis' critically-acclaimed religious epic six-issues are collected in at trade paper back. Wormwood is the anti-Christ, no way around it, his dad is Satan and his demonic powers help him fit right into New York. His best friend is Jesus, who is a black, mentally-challenged, man that just isn't performing many miracles these days. The pesky Armageddon is coming right up, and it doesn't look like Pope Jacko is going to be any help in stopping it. Ennis drags the whole world into the gutter with his trademark razor-sharp dialogue, biting wit, and the stunning art of Jacen Burrows, all in full-color.
