Supanova Saturday

Between Supanova preview night and the final rush of Sunday is the wind around on Saturday. One day gone, one left to go, some more photos from the event, mainly on the food.

Grab a fork and spoon Homebush Bay Brewery Bistro, open on until the close of the grill at 20:00 and the table's getting ready to work out the order of ordering.

Patch attacks the side pocket By the toilets, where Hamish Blake is ambushed for a photo or two, Patch takes out a ball in pool Pretty steep coinage requests from the machine too.

Jason for the wedge Get that into ya, Jase!

Hanging out on a chow line Everybody has got a plate of some meat and salads to chew on. Most contentious issue being the size of the slice of bacon in the mixed grill. That is if you were lucky enough to even get bacon.

Lightsabers at Supanova Sydney It's dark, but not too dark with enough light but not too much light for the lightsabers of the Star Wars fans outside to chill and hang out warming in the night.

Billy Bob and Earl on life, food and 0.15 Eagle eyes and long time visitors to the shop will remember the man on the left. Newcomers and the recent will note that Earl Hickey is on the right.

Supanova Sydney

Supanova has come and gone from Sydney for another year. This year, back at its old home stomping grounds of Olympic Park. Where the walk from one end to another is tiring, the sections cut off for better segregation and a fire alarm warns people that the day in question is Saturday.

Photos from the preview night are below:

Calm before the Sunday sale storm
Well before the storming of the Comic Shop The calm before the storm known as the Sunday clearance. When the announcement went off for 75% off all remaining stock, it was madness and a bedlam of carnage. Thrilling for those at the front of the line, a curios wonder for those stuck at the back.

Summer Glau at Supanova Sydney Summer Glau signing at the preview night Friday. Little did they explain on that first day, that each item, personal or otherwise, costs at least $30 for the autograph. Shock indeed.

More Tomb Raider for you? No treasures to be raided, just more fun in the cosplay department. They were later spotted still in their Lara Croft outfits at the only Hooters restaurant in Australia.

Star Wars: Visage of Tom Tom getting in an early sneak standing by the Star Wars costumes from Novus Ordo.

Mothman prepares for the chunder Mothman hanging outside one of the rooms at the Ibis Hotel. Where it smells far different in the morning.

Nutting out the whole lay out of the weekend is well under way for the Comic Shop's grand appearance.

Plans are afoot and the hand of guidance is ready for the stampede and rush of the days.

Charcoal to the face is as warm as milk in the ear

Evidenced by a note last week in the Comic Books section of Journalista, all these reviews aren't exactly meant for the clear felling of opinion and spoiling the comics.

After all, that's what all those other sites are about.

No, this place is all about spoiling the concept of semantic sentence structure. Lofty ideals indeed.

Putting to sleep a standing order

Downward feeling moment on the cards with a regular coming to terms of no longer being able to stay true to being a comic book fan. As such, the need for a standing order was no longer needed.

Shock and dismay from all within earshot. One even taking a few steps back in the motley horror of the news. It's the kind of reaction reserved for those who otherwise looked to have had their grave lots readjusted to buried their collection six feet underground.

And so there is no more fitting a follow on than to not only call it quits on the card, but to retire the standing order number complete.

With the last buy out of the comics remaining, a sad farewell to regularity.

Super fun happy cold cut baloney time

For those without a connection to the pay cable that delivers the pricey version of repeats and schlock to the TV...

Commercial filmed on the first day of the big reopening/moving sale back in August. Sadly, hanging shot of the store isn't one taken in the heat of the people but of an after hours set up.

Spot the spelling mistake a true fanboy would never let slip through.
