Aliens getting their rocks off in about the same way as humans do and an ever present swinging cleavage mark this comic. Smelling powerful and rich in fibres from the printing press, there was little of anything that made the next issue a compelling read. Even this issue wasn't a time keeper of things for good. Posturing, playing around with dials and lights and that's about the extent of this episode. Feeling flat despite the nice dark wash of art and colours.

Nipples need stringing up? Nipples strong enough to hook anchor for ropes and vines in the first place? Well, in this issue of
Tarot, that's just what's happening on pretty much every page. Throw in all manner of quick fire euphemisms for pleasuring the vagina and it's a comic that knows how to play it up. Not entirely much on a solid and endearing plot, but that's not what this comic is there for. It's fun, rather light on logic and moves at a quick pace.

What's not to like about a sacrilegious tale of a smokin', sexin' and wrasslin' Pope? Hail thee the Pontiff unafraid to thwart demons with his own blood soaked hands. Nothing but fun and hilarity with dirty and rough-around-the-edges-looking art work.

Finally got around to reading the Whedon prequel comic to the upcoming
Serenity movie. Pretty tardy, given that the third issue of the miniseries hits the shelves this week.
And they swear in written Chinese here, with no help for those who cannot read the glyphs. Oh the coy play on censorship! A fine and rollicking kick-out-the-jams run as the Serenity crew barely make it off the world alive and poorer for their efforts. The comic has speed, energy and dollops of wit. Now, to hunt down a copy of the second issue.
Look on the horizon,
Serenity LEGO-ised.
From the Browncoats mailing list: "A special screening of Serenity followed by a Q&A with Joss has been scheduled! Screening will take place at
Hoyts Fox Entertainment Quarter (formerly Hoyts Fox Studios) on Monday September 12 Film commences at 6pm Q&A with Joss Whedon to follow at 8pm Tickets are $30 each."

Zombie King #0 (Image) - If you can find it, get it. First few pages are worth it alone. Best see for yourself why it's so funny. Or not so. That cow just would never have been right no matter what happened after that encounter.
Action Philosophers! #1 (Evil Twin) - So you have learning and comics. But deep learning, stuff the English teacher or History teacher would love to go on and on about. Thought, deep mental processing, and funky line work.
Sonic The Hedgehog #150 (Archie Comics) - Coming in half way, the story already takes place. And damn, that Sonic is one helluva playa with the ladies. Oh, wait... right.

Sin City is a glorious film. Watch it. Be in awe. Love it.
For what can only be best described as a slap-it-straight adaptation of a comicbook, it's pretty much a panel-to-scene transfer for the graphic novels into one cohesive tapestry.
Rich and thick of noir and heavy voilence, it's over top when you're looking at it against other fare of late.
Quick, it still manages to develop characters and situations nicely and is pretty much nothing short of fantastic.
